Congratulations to all our students that participated in our youth trappers course November 9-12th. They experienced what running a trap line is all about, learning about the traps and how to set them, checking the trap line and harvesting the animals and preparing the furs. We are happy to announce that they all passed the exams and are looking forward to getting their fur harvest licence from the MNRF.
This is the first year that 4 out of 6 students were girls attending the course which we were really excited about! Thank you to George Hagen for instructing the students, Gino Cacciotti for cooking and keeping the students well fed and full and Madison Wagnar for participating and being the female chaperone. A huge shout out to OFAH Zone D and the Fur Institute of Canada for helping fund this youth initiative.
