A great big Miigwetch to all that helped with this project making it possible to continue enhancing this beautiful watershed!
Once the creek was cleaned, we then moved forward with both stewardship ranger groups from Sudbury and Windy Lake, as well as the Grade 8 students from Lakeview School in M’Chigeeng, to commence enhancement of the creek by placing wing deflectors, boulders, planting trees and adding to last years’ restoration addition to help provide more flow to scour out sediment. A great big Miigwetch to all that helped with this project making it possible to continue enhancing this beautiful watershed!

The Sudbury District Stewardship Rangers helped us clean up the garbage out of M'Chigeeng Creek to improve fish passage up the stream. We appreciate this group's on-going dedication to our organization and enjoy working with their team.
Who could complain about an office day at the beach! What a glorious afternoon with some great kids on Manitowaning’s beautiful beach. Kids loved the invertebrate study and had a blast searching the shoreline for other aquatic life. Staying cool wasn’t a problem in these cool waters. Thanks to Assiginack Township for hosting these sessions.
Many volunteers came out to help remove sweet clover, a fast spreading invasive plant taking over the Providence Bay beach. This is a great first step to fixing up the beach. Thank you to everyone that helped out! What a beautiful night to come together with family and friends to remember Bob Hutton and acknowledge his vision and continue his efforts in restoring Norton's Creek back to a productive brook trout creek. A special Thank you to the Hutton Family that created this wonderful outdoor classroom for Manitoulin Streams to educate our youth on stream restoration and stream ecology. A special thank you to Delmer Fields who hand carved the different stages of the life cycle of the brook trout for the students and public to enjoy. Very proud to be amongst these wonderful community minded people!
