This year was our 11th annual brook trout event and we decided to host this event at the Assiginack Arena, instead of the Hutton shed off of Bidwell. Although we have been completely thrilled to have had the large shed donated by the Hutton family every year, it was a nice change of pace to host this indoors. We were also hit with a snow storm that cancelled the bussing and school groups, but the community stepped up and flooded in to help with putting the 10,000 eggs in the compartments of the Scotty boxes. Afterwards, we took the eggs down to Norton’s Creek and secured them in the cold water, giving them the ideal environment to hatch and thrive. We are very appreciative of the community support and would like to thank Les and Delmer Fields for overseeing supplies and arranging for the use of the arena. A big thanks to the township for donating the use of the arena and to all volunteers that showed up to help, you made this day possible!
