Manitoulin Streams in partnership with the Little Current Fish and Game Club created a spawning pool for migrating salmonids (salmon and trout) at the top of the Bass Lake Creek fish ladder. The spawning pool is 30ft length x 6ft wide with ¼ inch to 4-inch round gravel or approx.186 cubic feet. The boulder cluster at the top of the pool will help with higher water velocities in the spring reducing the speed entering the pool. Thank you to everyone involved to complete this project. #ManitoulinStreams, #LittleCurrentFishandGameClub, #Townofnortheasternmanitoulinandtheislands, #Sheguiandah

Low Island Little Current Garbage Cleanup

We went down early to beat the heat and got Low Island cleaned up of garbage on Friday. We managed to pick up enough to fill the wagon! Hoping we can all work together to keep our Island clean. The wind can very easily blow this garbage into the surrounding waters. #townofnortheasternmanitoulinandtheislands-nemi, #garbagecleanup, #ManitoulinStreams

Manitoulin Streams staff was able to get out along the Kagawong River to help cleanup the garbage in the river and along the trail last week. Trying to reduce the amount of plastics entering the watershed and keeping our trails in good condition with all the people visiting Bridal Veil Falls.
