Congrats to NEMI for pulling off another successful year at the Manitoulin Trade fair! Despite our stream table not being operable until repaired, we managed to entertain many children of all ages with our play dough stream table, and crafty fish. Manitoulin Streams and the Little Current Fish and Game Club won best large booth. Thanks to Bill Strain and his crew for their fabulous display alongside ours, and to all volunteers that helped run our table this weekend!

ERA is pleased to donate a laptop to the Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association in Ontario. The Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association is grass roots, a not-for -profit organization that is focused on large-scale, community-based efforts to rehabilitate aquatic ecosystems on Manitoulin Island, in central Ontario. They bring the entire community together to do this via joint private and public driven initiatives. Their efforts rehabilitate and enhance water quality and the fisheries resource on Manitoulin Island and Lake Huron which is fed by the streams. Here is a little video which shows the excitement of the students from Pontiac School when the fish from the hoop net are placed into the run way. This put a smile on my face!
