2nd Annual Jacket & Jeans Gala a Success

Wow.... What a night! A big thank you and Miigwech to everyone that came out to celebrate this event with us and to all of our sponsors. We had another sold out Jacket & Jeans Fundraising Gala and we enjoyed the amazing locally sourced food from the Anchor Inn. We also loved that we were able to highlight and acknowledge Bob Florean for all his work with Manitoulin Streams over the years! Thank you to everyone that came out and supported our grass roots organization. We will continue to restore our streams for future generations to come!

Blue Grass Festival

As always, this yearly event is a great way to spend the weekend. A bigger turnout this year, so I’m told, and many eager attendees camping the entire weekend enjoying many blue grass style bands, including the island's Robbie Shawana. Manitoulin Steams always enjoys this event for our big kick off to summer and can barely keep our feet from tapping. Thanks to Denise McKenzie for inviting us to join in on the fun. Hats and trees were sold and many connections made!

Wiky Partners with Manitoulin Streams; Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Greening Event

Thank you to Sophie Pheasant for the invitation to talk on behalf of Manitoulin Streams and for holding a workshop for the Green Team in Wikwemikong for World Environmental Day! Trees were handed out to the community and Seija did a talk on stream restoration. A good turnout with much enthusiasm for greening in this community.

MICA Bike Rally Stops at Kicking Mule Ranch

On Sunday June 4, Manitoulin Streams joined Kicking Mule Ranch in hosting the final day of the Manitoulin MICA bike rally ride. There were over 240 cyclists this year, and all were smiling as they entered the awesome western theme offered at KMR. A nice break for all, on this partially rainy, cool day, as they warmed up by the fire and enjoyed great food and entertainment. Hats off to Maya and Willie for hosting another great event on the island. Our streams table was flocked with intrigue from these mostly city dwellers, very supportive of the work being completed by our organization. We appreciate the invite and the great company!
