Stream Tours and Adventures

We offer a variety of streamside adventures or tours as well as guided hikes. Manitoulin Island is full of beautiful hiking locations, a few of which happen to be alongside some of our restoration work. ​Stream Detective

This is one of our oldest educational programs and over the years has had hundreds of participants. During the Stream Detective adventure we examine some of the techniques used to sample aquatic bugs as well as learn how to identify bugs and understand what their presence means!

Pricing: $5/participant

​Youth Rangers

This year we started our Youth Ranger program where Liam teaches children about various aspects of nature such as plant and animal identification as well as the observation of natural processes. The program is for kids in Grades 1-8 and typically runs the last Thursday or Friday of the month.

Pricing: $5/child for hour sessions
​$10/child for sessions over an hour

Private Tour

Manitoulin Island is covered in beautiful hiking trails through unique habitats. If you would like a guided hike from our nature expert Liam reach out to getinvolved.manitoulinstreams@gmail.com  and he will arrange a special outdoor adventure for you!

School Group Tour

Every fall the salmon run on Manitoulin Island and it's a great opportunity to get school groups down to the rivers to learn about their lifecycle. The salmon tours occur around October but school tours of restoration sites can be arranged at any point in the year at any public restoration site or hiking trail.
