Bob Izumi getting a taste of Manitoulin! Bob Izumi's Real Fishing Wikwemikong Tourism Fuel the Fire TV Manitoulin Ice Showdown 2020
Both grade 4 classes came and helped move 8000 brook trout from the micro-hatchery into a bucket to be transported to a creek in Sheguiandah First Nation. They took turns looking at them under the microscope to see the fish development. Rolly Frappier from Micro-hatcheries Inc. gave an educational talk about their life cycle. The students did an amazing job taking care of the eggs and there were very few mortalities! Great eggs and great student caretakers this year!
Thank you to everyone that helped make this a successful learning tool for the students at Little Current P.S. and to those community members that joined us at the creek to release the fish.
Thank you and Miigwech!
