On August 16, 2013, Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association will be in Providence Bay to help plant trees and shrubs along the riparian area of their stream restoration pr0ject MIN 900-902 as part of the community environmental initiative supported by Walmart-Evergreen Green Grants program.

Evergreen is a national environmental organization that makes cities more livable through community naturalization projects. The Walmart-Evergreen Green Grants program is the largest funding program of its kind in Canada. Through the Walmart-Evergreen Green Grants program alone, Evergreen has distributed over $3 million in Green Grants to 503 community initiatives across Canada.
