On Friday Jan 8, 2016 the kids of Assiginack Public School were thrilled to have Manitoulin Streams come do a talk about the small brook trout micro hatchery placed in their front hall. Back from holidays at what would be a difficult week to get back into the pace of school work, these kids were filled with excitement and questions for Sue Meert of Manitoulin Streams. This effort is in appreciation of Rolly Frappier and Bob Florean of the United Walleye Club. The club had donated a microscope that has now been placed at the school to utilize and we were able to get a close up visual of an “eyed egg” stage brook trout.
