OFAH Tour 2019

The last school tour we gave at the Blue Jay Creek Fish Hatchery was before COVID in 2019. We hope to begin these educational tours in partnership with the Fish Hatchery and the MNRF. At these tours the students learn about the process of growing a variety of native fish species for stocking purposes as well as the history of those fish within the great lakes. While there, the students also get to go on a tour of the hatchery and the surrounding grounds which are a past Manitoulin Streams restoration site and host spawning Salmonid species at various times of the year.

The last week of October, we were thrilled to join in on the Blue Jay Creek Hatchery tour presented for all fish hatchery organizations and enthusiasts. This day was funded by OFAH and Matt Demille was present for the tour at Blue Jay Creek hatchery and the ponds tour in Sandfield.
Sue Meert of Manitoulin Streams did a presentation on our youth educational sessions and partnership with the Little Current Fish & Game Club. We thank Matt Demille of OFAH and Bill Strain of the Little Current Fish and Game Club for including us in on this amazing outreach session! |
