If you haven’t had a chance to tour the hatchery or trail at the Blue Jay Creek Hatchery, we suggest you give it a try! 40 grade 2/3 students did just that and had a blast. So much to see and learn, these kids were excited to explore the trail with Sue from Manitoulin Streams, play a game with Rebecca and tour the inside of the hatchery with Dale and Shannon of the MNR. Manitoulin Streams did a restoration at this creek many years ago and the work has held up beautifully. Many juvenile fish were spotted and lots of other little creatures. Just a hint, move fast by the grist mill, the fire ants are on patrol!
