Thank you Municipality of Central Manitoulin and operator Jon Graham for helping us open up the mouth of the Mindemoya River so the salmon can make their way up stream easier to spawn. Recent heavy winds was closing up the mouth of the river. Also, thanks to the Sudbury District MNRF for the work permit! Working together to reach a common goal!
In memory of the late Ron Bowerman, who was one of the original members of the Little Current Fish and Game Club, a bench has been installed by his family at the Bass Lake Creek fish ladder and spawning pool. Ron contributed endless hours helping to re-establish the walleye, rainbow trout and salmon populations that utilize Bass Lake Creek. He will always be remembered for his dedication to improving the fishery for future generations, his hard work and friendly smile!
