Canada-Ontario Agreement Respecting the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem (COA) - Find out about the COA, this agreement signed by the governments of Canada and Ontario to restore and protect the Great Lakes Basin ecosystem. These are the funds that have paid for a lot of the Manitoulin Streams work to date.

Community Fisheries and Wildlife Involvement Program (CFWIP) - This is your opportunity to participate in hands-on fish and wildlife management and conservation activities. You can develop volunteer projects that will improve fish and wildlife in the province, and improve opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) will provide financial help, expertise, equipment and materials for approved CFWIP projects. We welcome everyone in Ontario to volunteer his or her time and ideas.

Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans Infocentre - Includes guidelines and factsheets (including fish facts), information on policy and legislation, resources on what to do when working around water in Ontario, as well as news releases and publications.

Environment Canada's Freshwater Website - Did you know Canada has all or part of 4 of the 17 largest rivers in the world? Extensive scientific, policy, educational, resource management and cultural information all relating to freshwater, including rivers.

Great Lakes Ecological Protection and Restoration - Extensive information from the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

National Water Research Institute - Canada's pre-eminent freshwater research facilities.

Official Atlas of Canada - With information about freshwater and hydrology, water maps, lesson plans, river facts and photos.

Ohio State University STREAMS Project - Great online resources and information, including many for teachers, parents and students. Links to stream restoration projects across the United States.

Ontario Stream Restoration Planning and Projects - Listing of stream restoration projects around Southern Ontario, as well as information on watershed ecology and techniques and methods for stream restoration like those we have used on our streams.

United Nations "Water for Life" Decade (2005 - 2015) - A global decade-long campaign to increase access to safe water for drinking and sanitation.
