We are excited to once again provide Assiginack P.S. with a small micro-hatchery that is meant to raise the eyed egg brook trout (part of 10,000 eggs) that were too small to be placed in the Scotty trays from Decembers' event. These eggs have now hatched and have absorbed most of their yolk sack, and are now being fed. In a couple months, these little guys will be released into Nortons Creek along with the other brook trout that had hatched in the trays. This initiative is part of our educaitonal approach to provide a hands on learning for the grade 3/4 class, and will give them scientific experience at documenting and observing. Thanks to Delmer Fields for the use of his equipment and helping to set up!
